Mary (Ondik) Podsadowski, 92, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Thorpe's Personal Care, North Charleroi. Born July 12, 1922, in Star Junction, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Moskel) Ondik. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Podsadowski was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, was retired from the Former Hills Department Store, where she worked as a sales clerk, worked in housekeeping at the former Belle Vernon Holiday Inn, was a homemaker, member of the former St. Sebastian Legion of Mary, sang in the church funeral choir, was a member of the Center on the Hill and loved going to polka dances. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Podsadowski, of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Albert and Georgia Ondik, of Georgia, and Joseph Ondik, of Greensburg; sister, Vilma Matens, of Texas; loving friend, Anna May "Jonesy" Jones; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Podsadowski, 1996; a brother Michael Ondik; and a sister, Olga Secrest. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME and CREMATIONS, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Monsignor Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Mary Podsadowski at 3 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
